“A unanimous jury has found Ghislaine Maxwell guilty of one of the worst crimes imaginable — facilitating and participating in the sexual abuse of children,” stated U.S. Attorney Damian Williams. “Crimes that she committed with her long-time partner and co-conspirator, Jeffrey Epstein. The road to justice has been far too long. But, today, justice has been done. I want to commend the bravery of the girls — now grown women — who stepped out of the shadows and into the courtroom. Their courage and willingness to face their abuser made this case, and today’s result, possible.”
Maxwell was found guilty of five of the six federal counts she was charged with and faces up to 65 years in prison. The guilty charges include:
- conspiracy to entice a minor to travel to engage in illegal sex acts,
- conspiracy to transport a minor with the intent to engage in criminal sexual activity,
- transporting a minor with the intent to engage in criminal sexual activity,
- conspiracy to commit sex trafficking of minors,
- and sex trafficking of minors.
She was not found guilty of enticing a minor to travel to engage in illegal sex acts, which carried a five year sentence.
Now, we need the prosecutors to go after the johns who also used minors.
“Justice has been served for the victims of Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. Sex traffickers do not operate alone, and Maxwell’s involvement in the luring of victims was integral to Epstein’s crimes,” observed FFL Speaker, rape survivor, and sex trafficking expert Joyce McCauley-Benner. “In some prostitution rings, this right-hand person is referred to as the ‘bottom bitch,’ a trainer and enforcer of new recruits. However, many bottom bitches often were once victims themselves, though in Maxwell’s case, her life of privilege afforded her a comfort few others have known.”
Feminists for Life has been leading the effort to make parents and teens aware of the insidious work of predators.
Do you know that there are five types of predators? Do you know the warning signs? Does your daughter know how to identify and protect herself? To learn more and protect our daughters, read Joyce’s brilliant insights on the world of traffickers, and read her letter to parents as well as her letter to the vulnerable. And yes, abortions are used to cover up these crimes and are sometimes even performed by someone in Maxwell’s position.
