Abortion Hotline to Target the Poor

Last month the White House announced the potential development of a national hotline to counsel women seeking abortions and other family planning services.

Of course, the target of this new hotline is low-income women — many of whom are minorities — and others without insurance, very likely including students.

So Margaret Sanger of them.

The National Abortion Federation already has a hotline. Women and minors already search for abortions online, frequently finding Planned Parenthood. What a waste of our tax money as they force us to be an unwilling part of the abortion business

The hotline would reportedly provide “nondirective” counseling — although if someone asks about abortion, they will refer.

This program will also offer pregnant clients information about prenatal care, delivery, infant care, foster care, and adoption in the same breath as abortion. To them all choices are equal. We know all people are equal. All choices are not.

Since HHS is only considering applications from organizations that already receive grants for Title X family planning services, what’s your bet? Mine is on Planned Parenthood as the number one contender. So much for neutrality.

The grant recipient will also be responsible for establishing and operating an accompanying website. They will be responsible for maintaining a “detailed national list” of referral sites. Besides copying and pasting abortion listings already in existence, we question if they will list the pregnancy resource centers which actually assist women throughout pregnancy and well after their babies are born.

All this (and so much more) is really discouraging. But through our WomenDeserveBetter.com helpsite and getting the word out on campus, we can reach thousands in need. So please help share this resource!

Women are capable. Sometimes women need help. Thanks to you, help is here.
