Your 2020 FFL Facebook faves…

When we were looking at our year in review, we focused on what made you think, what made you mad, what made you act, and what made you celebrate.

With this in mind, we have a VICTORY for women and children to announce: In case you missed it, thanks in part to Feminists for Life’s advocacy, Discover has removed its card services from Pornhub.

We are pleased that Discover has joined the other major cards to cease its usage on Pornhub. No credit company should ever allow its card to be a part of trafficking and the abuse of women, teens, and children. When someone buys porn, that person too exploits the most vulnerable and becomes part of trafficking, whether that person admits to it or not. We are talking about a spectrum of violence.

A Beazley Institute study of trafficking victims found that, on average, there were TWO abortions for every teen and woman trafficked.

We continue our advocacy by announcing our support for Sen. Josh Hawley’s bipartisan bill, which would let sex trafficking and revenge porn victims sue websites like Pornhub.

We have made a concerted effort to provide you with the latest array of pro-life feminist news and views across all of our social media — on FacebookTwitter, and Instagram — every day (and sometimes more than once a day!). And so, as 2020 draws to a close, here are your top Facebook posts:

Breastfeeding student mom is scolded by her professor — and takes action! YOU cheered her on.

“A ground-breaking study by the Beazley Institute found 66 human-trafficking survivors had a total of 114 abortions — 114 abortions among 66 women. Let that sink in.”

Now you know Dorothy Day was a suffragist, too!

The price is WRONG: Planned Parenthood doesn’t need any more of our tax dollars.

You cared when cowards attacked an Afghan maternity ward.

Students were told they can’t say “no” to a dance. Here’s why that’s a problem.

Serrin spoke to Fox News for their feature about the women leading the pro-life movement.

As feminists, we agreed with one mother’s earnest plea to STOP putting down boys and men!

Our hearts went out to a young mom who couldn’t feed her baby. Read on for who answered her call.

Harvey Weinstein was found GUILTY.

Susan B. Anthony was finally pardoned —for breaking an unjust law.

A mom of five was shamed for her “too large” family. Hear her speak out! (Who ARE these people?)

And finally, our No. 1 post of the year! More than 34,000 of you viewed and about 500 of you shared the news that Mount Mary University, in Milwaukee, is planning a special housing complex, where both retired sisters and single moms will reside.

Over the past quarter-century, our efforts to develop resources on campus have inspired model programs at Georgetown, Belmont Abbey College, and Pepperdine, as well as other organizations and even state and federal legislation.

There are now more than 240 articles on our WomenDeserveBetter.com helpsite, which has been visited by well over 125 THOUSAND people in 2020. Through this vital resource, we continue to help the most vulnerable — especially primary caretakers — Work, Learn, Live, and Love better, this year and beyond.

And in the coming year, our Girls Deserve Better effort with the theme “FOREVER Priceless” will help us begin our work to reach the college-bound and those at high risk of abuse, trafficking, and abortion.

Thank you for trusting in our vision and supporting these efforts to reach girls and women before they even consider abortion. Who knew when we first began our Women Deserve Better® campaign for the 30th anniversary of Roe that it would become the catchphrase of the movement? Or that our focus on collegians would become central to our movement? Or that it would help the movement focus as much on the woman, rather than solely the baby? Or that we could reclaim feminism?

Once again, if you have not done so already, please make your year-end giftwhich is being matched — three ways — starting with the FFL Board and Friends. Then, it’s double-matched if you start or increase monthly giving. And many employers will double your tax-deductible gift again!

As always, I thank you, on behalf of those we serve — now and as we approach a challenging new year.

Because women deserve better,
