What will pro-life groups & pregnant women face — now that school is back in session?
With back-to-school now beginning in earnest throughout much of the country, many of our daughters and sons are returning to or first attending campuses and schools that have been forever changed, first by COVID, then by the backlash over the Dobbs decision by abortion advocates.
Many colleges and university administrators are reportedly working hard to focus on abortion rather than support for women choosing to have their children. Pro-life groups are facing hostility from administration — and fellow students.
After Roe was overturned, some medical students walked out on their own white coat ceremony. Why? Because they learned the speaker, Dr. Kristin Collier, is pro-life (and didn’t even mention abortion in her address). We hope, but frankly have little reason to believe, that abortion activists on campus who are being organized by multimillion dollar organizations will be more willing to work with or even listen to pro-life students.
So, how will we support pro-life student groups? It will take more from us.
We want you to know that we are proactively reaching out to student groups that have had significant pushback to another speaker — or when parenting students are having a hard time getting what they need and deserve.
Most recently, the president of one student council declared that no funding would go to that university’s on-campus pro-life group. We immediately reached out offering to strategize and give them whatever they need!!
So, we are stepping up, with faith that you will support our efforts to tailor our help and increase our efforts to give FREE resources to pro-life student groups on campus.
It will be labor-intensive in finding and reestablishing groups. Then we will provide them with FREE FFL kits for tabling to grow their groups, speakers, Pregnancy and Parenting Resource Forum℠ moderators, and one-on-one support and problem-solving. But this hard work will be well worth the investment, especially on campuses that are increasingly hostile to pro-life students — and making pregnant women feel unwelcome!
We cannot afford to lose this class of students, the future leaders in all areas.
With all of the preparations being made for the historic school year ahead — the first ever post-Roe — we must also meet the needs of pregnant and parenting students directly. We continue to reach thousands of women a month through our helpsite, WomenDeserveBetter.com.
And now, with added pressure from soaring fuel costs that impact every food supply (including baby formula) and basic need, mothers are hungry to stretch their dollar to feed and care for their families.
With your help, we can increase our outreach on social media to meet them where they are!
There is a new generation to reach, and new needs to meet, as unsupported pregnant women feel forced to choose between school that will lift their family from poverty — and their children.
