Annual Thanksgiving Report: 2023-2024
Here are highlights of our work to help women in need and their children with practical support,
equip students with pro-woman messages and solutions, and
empower and protect teenage girls as they grow into womanhood.
We greatly appreciate your strategic investment in our work.
BILLBOARDS
Thanks to our supporters, billboards appeared in Pittsburgh, PA, Grand Rapids, MI, Carson City, NV, Minneapolis, MN, and Milwaukee, WI:
TEEN OUTREACH PROGRAM and COLLEGE OUTREACH PROGRAM:
- Serrin presented “The Feminist Case Against Abortion” to students at George Washington University, College of the Holy Cross, Texas A&M University, and the University of Pittsburgh.
- FFL Board Chair Kara Sorenson-Smith presented “The Cause for Life is a Feminist Cause” at Providence College.
- Thousands attended the Walk for Life West Coast. Board Vice Chair Pat O’Kane and helpers distributed education materials and placards to those attending the San Francisco event.
- FFL Public Education Coordinator Joyce McCauley-Benner presented “Slaves Among Us: Sex Trafficking in the US” at the 25th Annual Cardinal O’Connor Conference on Life. Approximately 800 students who attended the conference received numerous resources from FFL. In addition, Joyce presented at the virtual online conference for Heartbeat International.
- Joyce, Intern Bella Fechter, (now a fellow), and friend Carley from Providence College distributed hundreds of placards at the March for Life in Washington, D.C.

- Bella and Carley also staffed the booth at the National Pro-Life Summit in Washington, D.C. Approximately 1650 students attended the Pro-Life Generation Conference.
- Bella represented FFL at the Issues Day event at St. Mary’s High School in Texas.
- Bella and summer intern Clare Hettich represented us at the June Celebrate Life Conference and Rally at the Lincoln Memorial.
- FFL Speaker Cynthia Wood, J.D., presented “Pro-Life is Pro-Science: A Feminist Perspective” at the virtual Heartbeat Conference.
- Joyce moderated the 29th Pregnancy and Parenting Resource Forum at Georgetown University.

LEGISLATION
Since last Thanksgiving, FFL has endorsed the Frederick Douglass Trafficking Victims and Protection Reauthorization Act, the Pregnant Students’ Rights Act, Child Tax Credit expansion, MOMS Act (More Opportunities for Moms to Succeed), Florida’s HB 415 Pregnancy and Parenting Website, Children and Teens Online Privacy Protection Act/Kids Online Safety Act, Renewed Hope Act of 2024, and the Family Security Act.
WOMEN DESERVE BETTER WEBSITE
- We now have more than 340 articles to help women Work, Learn, Live, and Love better.
- Once again, we continue to serve 125,000 women and their supporters.
GIRLS DESERVE BETTER
On the International Day of the Girl, FFL debuted GirlsDeserveBetter.org, a new website that complements our Girls Deserve Better Instagram page. The website features four sections, Self-Worth, Healthy Relationships, Mental Health Support, and Sex Trafficking Prevention. For teens, especially those whose parents have not approved of social media use, students and parents can see the live feed of positive messages on our new website.

The Fall/Winter 2023 issue titled “The Missing Peace,” addressed post-Dobbs issues with our pro-woman, pro-life answers. Our Spring/Summer 2024 issue, “Strong As A Mother” celebrated the strength and dignity of women. Look for our Fall/Winter 2024 issue, “What About Men?,” in your mailbox in the next few weeks!
