Announcing the Chair of the Board…

Feminists for Life of America is pleased to announce the new Chair of the Board, Kara Sorenson, who along with FFL President Serrin Foster and the rest of the Board and staff, looks forward to making Women’s History!

Kara first learned of Feminists for Life of America when she was volunteering at a local pregnancy resource center in Pennsylvania and Serrin presented her landmark speech, “The Feminist Case Against Abortion,” at Clarion University. The next year, Kara served as vice president of the pro-life group on campus and invited Serrin back to moderate a Pregnancy Resource ForumSM on campus.

Under Kara’s leadership, a panel of a dozen administrators, three off-campus service providers, and a student parent identified pregnant and parenting resources and strategy to communicate these services in just two hours. The next two summers, she shared her experience during FFL’s Annual Capitol Hill Intern Briefing and later at the March for Life Youth Rally.

As an FFL intern, Kara subsequently contributed to what would become our online resource, www.WomenDeserveBetter.com. She represented FFL at the first Pro-Life Women’s Conference, held in Dallas in 2016 and led by Abby Johnson, and this year at the March for Life Expo in Washington, D.C.

Kara joined the FFL Board of Directors in 2017. This February, she was unanimously elected as Chair of the Board.

“I look forward to advancing the mission of Feminists for Life as we promote holistic, woman-centered solutions, both on campus and on the Hill, and reach women in need directly through WomenDeserveBetter.com,” adding, “Less than a year from now, we will be marching in the shoes of our feminist foremothers during the Centennial Celebration of the Susan B. Anthony Amendment. It is my honor to share our pro-life feminist history first revealed by FFL, and to work to fulfill her vision with your support.”

Look for FFL President Serrin Foster’s upcoming Bluegrass Tour of universities in Kentucky and an event in Washington D.C. in March, plus another with FFL Speaker Joyce McCauley-Benner in Illinois in April.
