Pro-(Fun)Life: Family Recreation on a Budget

August 22, 2011

While there's still summer to enjoy, we're taking the opportunity to share "Raising Kids on a Shoestring" co-editor Cat Clark's article on "Recreation," which includes sections on:

  • Tried and True Games and Play for Everyday
  • Hobbies
  • Family Outings and Field Trips
  • Celebrating Holidays, Birthdays, and Special Occasions
  • Travel

August is a wonderful time of year to:

Make the most of the free and inexpensive recreation areas and destinations where you live, including playgrounds and parks; hiking and biking trails; historic sites; nature centers, gardens, arboretums, and botanical sites; exotic and petting zoos; galleries, museums, and planetariums; skating rinks; swimming pools; and beaches.

Cat's article encourages us to "Turn on your kid's observation skills, inquisitiveness, and imagination."

Many of the best things in life are free. Please forward this email and share these resources with your friends, family members, coworkers, and anyone you know who may be able to use them. (And see below for more topics.)
