- Announcing Feminists for Life University:
Our Model University
FFLU is a composite of the best pro-woman, pro-parent, pro-child solutions
devised by students and administrators during FFL-hosted Pregnancy Resource
Forums, plus a few of our own creative ideas. Celebrate the kick off
of October Respect Life activities by taking a quick tour of FFLU!
- Would you like a Feminists for Life speaker to come to your area?
Now is the time to plan for Fall 2006 and Spring 2007 lectures. See
our brief descriptions for more
information.
- Planned Parenthood was right...for once.
- Check out student reaction and coverage of FFL President Serrin Foster's
address "The Feminist Case Against Abortion." Most recently
she visited Loyola in Los Angeles with a special appearance by FFL Honorary
Chair Patricia Heaton. (Please note that Ms. Heaton's availability is
very limited as she is a mother of four and continues to work in the
entertainment industry.) Click to read the
pre-event announcement and the
post-event article.
- Last year she visited Wellesley,
Cornell,
Harvard,
Tulane,
Loyola University in New Orleans and the University
of Florida, among others.
- Read the coverage following her Spring 2002 tour of California, when
she brought the pro-woman, pro-life message to the University of San
Diego, Stanford, and Berkeley. Click on the following links to read
the coverage: The Vista, The
Daily Californian, Berkeley
Daily Planet, and The Southern Cross
(pgs 3 and 18). See what Stanford said after Serrin's lecture the prior year.
- Dozens of abortion advocates at Serrin Foster's Fall 2002 lecture
helped propel a heated discussion about the lack
of choices for women on campus at the University of California at San
Diego.
- Feminists for Life began its Pregnancy Resources Forum at Georgetown
University many years ago. They've held forums each year since. Read the article
about the 2003 forum!
- FFL President Serrin Foster responds
to columnist Ellen
Goodman's article with a history lesson on feminist opposition to
abortion.
- FFL President Serrin Foster's speech, "The
Feminist Case Against Abortion" has been included in
the anthology "Women's Rights" edited by Jennifer Hurley.
"Women's Rights" is one volume
in a series, "Great Speeches in History." Other volumes
include "The Founding of America," "The Great Depression,"
and "Human Rights." The series will be distributed to high
school and public libraries across the country.
- Against
the Grain: A Day in the Life of Serrin Foster - read the June 2003
Crisis magazine feature article where reporter Tom Hoopes shadows
FFL President Serrin Foster on college campuses.
- See coverage of FFL VP Sally Winn's lecture, "Refuse to Choose:
Reclaiming Feminism" in Brown University's Brown
Daily Hearld and Bowling Green State University's online BGNews.com,
with a response by FFL founder Pat Goltz. Articles from other schools
where Sally has spoken in the past include The Dartmouth, The
New Hampshire and Saint Michael College's Online Newspaper The
Echo. Her March 2004 visit to the University of North Carolina-Chapel
Hill appears in
The Daily Tar Heel.
- See what FFL's progress means through the stories
of student activists who are implementing our programs on college
campuses and help FFL write the next story of progress and transformation.
- Students are helping to spread FFL's message of hope on their campuses.
Take a look at this article by Sarah Parker, from the campus paper at
Seattle University: If
it's a matter of choice, then choose life.
